Laura Treccani is passionate about hospital innovation and has a strong interest in new hospital models such as Hospital-at-Home and the Virtual Hospital. She is convinced that the digitization of healthcare structures, combined with advances in medicine and care models, will revolutionize patient treatment over the coming decades.

Particularly sensitive to the wellbeing of elderly patients and end-of-life issues, Laura Treccani has had the opportunity to define the preliminary “Hospital-at-Home” pilote poject for the Geriatrics and Geriatric Rehabilitation Service at CHUV, which is currently in the funding phase with the Department of Health and Social Action of the Canton of Vaud.

During her presentation, Laura Treccani will give an overview of the evolution of the Hospital-at-Home model and its application in Switzerland. She will also offer reflections on the main challenges to consider in order to promote the long-term implementation of this concept.

As part of the “From lab to implementation” discussion panel, she will invite representatives from three Hospital-at-Home projects in Switzerland to present their progress and discuss the success criteria and issues that have emerged during their implementation. Participants will also be invited to discuss the future of Hospital-at-Home.
