His intervention at the conference

Thibault will take part in the panel Healing Through Movement, dedicated to integrating physical activity into healthcare pathways. His experience at Unisanté and his involvement in the Pas à Pas+ program clearly demonstrate how adapted physical activity can serve as a powerful tool for care, prevention, and reintegration at the heart of public health.

Specialist in Adapted Physical Activity & Project Manager in Health Promotion at Unisanté

Lionel Constantin holds a Master’s degree in Adapted Physical Activity as well as a Master’s degree in Secondary Education (Physical Education and Natural Sciences). After several years of experience as a teacher and adapted physical activity instructor, he has been working for the past four years at Unisanté, within the public health sector, as a project manager in health promotion and prevention, focusing on physical activity.

The main goal of his unit is to help reduce sedentary behavior and increase the proportion of physically active people within the population of the canton of Vaud. To this end, Lionel develops and coordinates various projects related to physical activity, leads training sessions for physicians, health and social professionals (including the PAPRICA program, which trains professionals in physical activity counseling), as well as for future sports instructors (esa training). He also designs workshops and conferences for diverse audiences — including individuals facing socio-economic vulnerability, seniors, and people living with non-communicable diseases — and develops practical tools to promote physical activity in daily life.

Lionel also works as a specialist in adapted physical activity within the Pas à Pas+ (PAP+) program, which supports insufficiently active individuals, or those affected by or at risk of developing non-communicable diseases. In this context, he provides personalized follow-ups over several months based on individualized motivational interviews. This follow-up includes a comprehensive assessment of the bio-psycho-social situation, physical activity level, motivations, and barriers, as well as the planning of tailored goals, individual counseling, progress monitoring, and practical sessions.

Beyond individual support, he contributes to building bridges between healthcare systems and community-based initiatives, collaborating with local partners to strengthen the accessibility and sustainability of physical activity opportunities.
